So, you’re ready to teach CPR and First Aid? Let’s make it official.

As an AHA Heartsaver® Instructor, you’ll be able to offer training in:

  • CPR & AED use
  • First Aid
  • Pediatric First Aid CPR/AED
  • K–12 School Programs
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • ...and more.

You’ll have the freedom to:

  • Teach at your own workplace or anywhere else you’re approved
  • List your classes on the official AHA class locator
  • Certify students across the U.S.

  • Heartsaver Instructor Essentials (online course)
  • Heartsaver Instructor Manual (digital or print, shipped to you)
  • In-person Instructor Course with a live facilitator
  • Initial Instructor Monitoring within 6 months
  • Alignment with our AHA training site (optional but available)

🧾 What You Might Still Need

  • Current AHA Heartsaver Provider Certification – required before your instructor status can be finalized. If you don’t have one yet, you can add the provider course during registration.
  • Heartsaver Student Workbook – needed only if completing your provider course as part of this process.

🧭 What to Expect

  1. Complete the Instructor Essentials online course (link emailed after registration)
  2. Attend your Instructor Course Day
  3. Complete your monitored session within 6 months of your course
